Robocop2 and now Robocop 3. Who knows what I'll watch next.
The Goonies on Blu Ray. Looks and sounds great.
Friday The 13th (original). Always a good one.
I watched "The People I've Slept With" last night... It was so so. The main character is worth looking at, I guess.
A Nightmare On Elm Street (original) and now A Nightmare On Elm Street 2. Both always good.
A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child
Yep, it's a rainy day perfect for watching movies.
A couple episodes of "Build It Bigger."
One was a power plant in Rio and the other one was a gold mine in South Africa.
watched Ocean's Eleven, Twelve, and Thirteen over the last few days.
Twelve is obviously the weaker of the movies, but it's also a different sort of movie and doesn't follow the pattern of Eleven or Thirteen. I really enjoy the series though.. good stuff
watched The Mechanic. Jason Statham is his typical sort of character. The movie is pretty gruesome with lots of killing, blood splatters, etc. It's actually pretty good though... not a bad action movie.
Watching Angus right now. One of my favorite movies.
Fast Five
overall... it's a winner as an action movie.
It starts off with a bang, and sets the tone for the movie to come. The theater audience had a nice reaction from the start, and had similar positive reactions throughout, including some laughter.
This movie is nothing like the first movies, and isn't even really like the last F&F movie. This movie is all action, and it's not very believable much of the time. But you really don't care when watching it.. as long as you can suspend any disbelief you might have, and you like action, you will probably like this movie. They hit all of the buttons.. a lot.
There's definitely some car appreciation in the movie.. my favorite was the old skyline Paul Walker's character drives in the beginning. But the movie isn't about cars. It's about a heist gone wrong... and then revenge and payback for the people responsible for screwing up that heist. Bring in an American military-type dude, add lots of explosions, chases, gun fights, major destruction, fist fights, and hot women (and men), and you have Fast Five.
Oh yes.. the women. Actually.. everyone in this movie is just plain hot.

There's nothing particularly smart about this movie. The filming itself isn't bad... it actually has some highlights (especially the pans of Rio de Janeiro (where most of the movie is set)). The last major sequence is the most improbable of events, but that doesn't make it any less cool.
Chances are... you'll probably enjoy this movie. It's getting nearly 80% on rotten tomatoes, and I haven't really heard a bad thing about it yet.
Oh yeah.. and the fight between Vin Diesel and The Rock/Dwayne Johnson is pretty awesome.
Phantasm. Been way too long so I thought I'd remedy that today.
Phantasm II. Excellent followup to the first one.
lame.. the links to the imdb images isn't working any more :(
watched V for Vendetta over the last couple of days. It's a good film.. but I think it fails at making any point. It just seems to bounce around with its ideas. I think it's enjoyable to watch though.. the filming itself is very well done.
Let's not forget that Natalie Portman is looking good in V For Vendetta. Really pulled off the whole bald look.
Watching Phantasm 3: Lord Of The Dead right now.
she looks very good, until she shows up bald. No thanks..
Phantasm 4: Oblivion. An excellent ending to a great series.
watched Men in Black a couple of nights ago.. still a good movie. But for some reason Will Smith's one-liners are much more apparent to me now. He basically plays a stereotypical 'funny' black guy from the late 90s. It's good to know his acting has improved & that he's been given much better parts since.
Pawn Stars... still a good show :D
I Am Number Four
it was okay... I'm glad I didn't waste time & money to see it in the theatre when it came out, but it's not bad either. The action is pretty good, but the first part & last part of the movie don't feel connected at all. It just feels like the first part happens.. then the second part happens. Maybe they had to edit more out than was planned or something. It's still nearly a 2 hour movie though, so who knows.
Nothing really happens, other than a bit of a chase happening in the background, until the big climax at the end. Otherwise, it's sort of a teenage love story, but that also doesn't really flesh itself out. I'm a fan of Timothy Olyphant, but he didn't do much in this movie either. So, it's a lot of things that aren't really done well or that don't make a lot of sense. But, aside from those things the movie isn't bad. It's definitely watchable, and probably worth a couple of hours if you're needing to fill it with some middle-of-the-road fantasy & action.
I watched a bunch of Auction Hunters last night and a bunch of Conan O'Brians. I also watched an episode of The Office that had Will Ferrell in it.
