watched Fellowship of the Ring (extended) a few days ago.. and watched the first half of the extended The Two Towers last night. It's the first time I've watched these in quite a while. I was reading the books while the movies came out, so it's interesting to watch them now that I've forgotten many of the books' details. They're definitely good movies.. but I can see now why people who aren't into fantasy in any way wouldn't find them interesting.
I first saw them back when they first came out. I think I'm going to hold off on watching the extended editions until after I've read the books.

yes, please read the books. That said.. the problem with reading the books is that you'll be upset at many parts of the movies for a while :P
Watching Monsters and Aliens now... never heard of it, and it was on in the background when I came in. I'm a geek when it comes to movies done like this, so I'm now watching it haha

Working through all the Arrested Development on Netflix. Again. Gosh, I love this show.
watched the new Mission Impossible movie tonight. It's nonstop insanity... there's no downtime for you to catch your breath. People were literally on the edge of their seats a few times, and there were quite a few moments where you could hear people gasping in the theatre. It's a pretty good film... tons of action.. and everything is done very well. There are plenty of silly gadgets but they're not used as plot devices much so the silliness isn't very distracting. I'm still not sure the ~95% rotten tomatoes rating makes much sense, but it's definitely deserving of a higher rating than what most movies got this year.
watched all three extended versions of the Lord of the Rings movies over the last week. I basically watched half of a movie each night.. which works out about right, since each half is nearly as long as many other films. It's such an epic set of movies.
This was the first time I've watched all three in a row, and this was the first time I've ever (*shock*) seen Return of the King the whole way through, from start to finish. I saw it twice in the theatres and fell asleep both times, and then never watched the whole thing after I bought the dvd's. It's been 10 years since the first movie came out, and 10 years since I read the books, so it was interesting watching these again. I think I got a little more out of the movies this time around, and probably appreciated them a bit more since I've forgotten some of the missed details from the books that annoyed me when they first came out.
So, now I've begun the crazy task of skimming through the extended DVD special features, and I might even try to listen to the commentary. We'll see if I survive this challenge..
Watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Die Hard. My two favorite Christmas movies of all time.

watched The Holiday a couple of nights ago. I was mostly in the mood to watch something with Kate Winslet in it. The movie is ok.. not really worth watching though.

I agree, Christmas Vacation is the best Christmas movie; and it's been a yearly tradition to watch it as a family since I can remember.

Bought Horrible Bosses yesterday and watched it with the gf. :thumbup: Was pretty funny the second time around. Also, finished How I Met Your Mother today.

I tried watching the first movie a while ago and stopped it a little way in. I was never really able to get into TOS, so that probably has something to do with it :P
I do need to watch TNG at some point..
Star Trek: The Motion Picture is definitely the worst of the series by a wide margin. You could skip it and move right into The Wrath Of Khan and not really miss out on anything.
I have TOS and TNG both on one of my external hard drives that I still have to watch.
Just watched 'Contagion' and I liked it.
With a little imagination you get a horrific view of what might actually happen in real life.
have a friend who's watching that right at this moment... it looks like an Outbreak wannabe :D

Finished watching The Godfather part 3 last night. Part 1 & 2 were better.
Me and the fam watched Limitless last night... pretty good, I thought. I had never heard of it, but my wife and sister-in-law rented it for everyone to watch, and I couldn't say no since it had De Niro in it.
Saw that movie last week and really enjoyed it too. Love how De Niro got the shaft in the end for once lol.Quote:

watched the 3rd season opener of Justified last night. It's still a pretty freakin' good show. I'm hooked. Timothy Olyphant rocks in it.
Watched "District B13" tonight...... It was pretty good but I had to really pay attention because it was sub-titled.
Watched "Season of the witch" last night. Wasnt too bad t'ill the end. Not the "twist" I expected.
Watched The Hangover II again today. Still funny.
