Finally got around to the timing chains. Replaced it all, found a few things that could have been the problem.

1. Decent amount of play on the lower tensioner. When chain was tight i could move...

The chains parts list... every thread I find talks about parts needed just for the chain job:
oil filter and new oil
oil pan and gasket *i want to inspect and see if any junk in there
chain kit...

Great thanks. Im buying a new gasket so no sealant and Ill just torque that pan to spec.

Opened it up and took a look. Guides seem fine, nothing broken. No wear on the guides and everything is intact. Are some engines chains noisier than others? Any thoughts on wat the click would be?
