    Interesting cam wear - 96 2.0L ABA

I'm planning on replacing the lifters with new, but I'm almost wondering if this wear pattern may be indicative of tired valve springs. Haven't gotten in quite far enough yet to confirm if they are the single spring (should have) or dual. Engine has 240k on it.

Looks fine to me. What in particular are you seeing that looks weird?

Looks fine to me too. Also, that head does not have 240k on it. Its been rebuilt or replaced during that time. I would guess more around 80-120k.

It looked like the cam was lifting off the lifter in the flats judging by the tarnished color on the flats. But it wasn't making a bunch of horrible noises, so I wasn't overly concerned. Just figured I'd get a second opinion while I had it apart.

    Thanks for the replies.

That's normal. The lobes are more or less going from line contact to surface contact, so the wear looks different there.
