A few updates - taken with my crappy phone...
Garage is getting closer - All tools fit with the car now which is nice.

Speaking of the car I took it out today to for a cruise and to peel the tires a bitInsurance runs out next week so it will live in the garage for now. It is much more fun to drive than I expected..

Heh, we've got the same fridge. Don't use off-brand water filters! We tried a couple different ones, they all leaked, except the Samsung ones.

We spent the last 4 days repainting the front of the house and sanding and painting the entry doors - waaay better.

I am almost finished making a new address sign for the house. It will wrap around the corner of the garage. It is made out of a 14g piece of steel 42" tall x 24" wide with the house numbers CNC plasma cut. Behind the cutouts there are bolts tacked on to hold a black plate offset about 1/2". The grey is just primer and the final color is the same green as our entry doors.

Doing some landscaping in the front yard - some seriously big rocks coming out of the bank! The biggest one is probably 3000#.
Attachment 509
One of the main goals is to expand the flat space in front of the house entry into the hillside and build a retaining wall. The biggest obstacle to actually doing this was not the rocks but this 4 tree stump grouping. When we bought the place we cut these 70'+ trees down anticipating this work.
Attachment 506
The clump is so stuck in there that the excavator pulling on them could not budge them at all. So I had to pressure wash all around them and expose the nightmare of roots.
Attachment 508
I used my sawzall to cut through all the roots I could get to
Attachment 507
Waiting now for the excavator guy to come back and try again.

Once all the work is done we should come out with a new usable 20' x 25' of flat space - which is a pretty big deal when you live on a steep hillside.
Making some headway on the landscaping... We are adding a parking area beside the house. This was a pretty steep drop off that we are filling up with tons of rocks and dirt - some of the rocks we ended up burying are like 2' x 3'.... Lucky for us we have an abundance of dirt that needed to be removed from a bank near here. We are trying to get a flat usable space about 15' wide by 18' long-ish for added parking. We are about 1/2 way there now. There will be a couple of 4' retaining wall tiers toward the bottom of this build-up.

So many bloody rocks!!!! Makes for slow progress.... and we have already buried at least the same amount so far. Some are huge - you can see the bike in the back ground for scale.

Had to rent a stump grinder to cut this sucker out of the way of where a retaining wall will go...

I should do that for the apple tree stump in my back yard :\
