I've got a hot-saw sitting in my garage right now for me to cut a trench drain in the front of my garage

I got ours at Lowes in 10' sections - was cheaper up here than Home Depot was. I was planning on making my own from bent 10g sheet metal and custom cnc plasma cut grates but was running out of time and had to just get it done.

That is the plan. We have a small sump on the far side and then then elevation drops pretty quickly from there and we are using 4" pipe. I think it will evacuate the water pretty nicely now.

Finally we are paved! Supposed to rain like crazy the next week or so... good test of the new drain systems.

I ran a LED strip light under the main retaining wall caps today. Adds a decent amount of light on the driveway - crappy cell pic however.

That's super cool. Reminds me of the lighting in one of those sneak around games like Splinter Cell or Hitman.

It has rained so much since we did the channel drain upgrade and it has been working perfectly!

These are going to be the sides of the new stair frame - 10" x 2 5/8" C channel.

This is my plywood template for the sides - the square shape at the house is just so I would have lots of space to position it against the house to set it up. Once it is all fabbed up it will just be the 10" c channels extending from the house to the cement landing pad.

I have the 2 side rails cut and welded together. Hoping to have the stairs assembled and installed before Christmas. The rail is upside down in relation to how it will be installed.

Making some progress but the snow and cold the last week or so is delaying the outcome...

I did manage to pick up all the exposed aggregate concrete treads and landing though.

If by "forklift" you actually mean "my sore back" then yes....

Each tread is 210 lbs and those side rails are close to that as well. The whole assembly with concrete and railings will be about 2500#

Got some more of the entry fabbed up - the other 4 posts that get welded onto the sloped side channels are cut, drilled and capped ready to weld on. In the next couple days we should have decent weather again for more welding.
