That is cool. I hope it's not a PITA to work on though!

Planning on doing some major maintenance on it before I start "daily" driving it. I am assuming that since it is mid engine, some stuff will be an absolute pain to do on it.

The car has been scheduled for shipment and should arrive around April 10th. I have no idea on how long it takes to clear customs, but I am fine if it takes a few days as I will be in the Philippines for work.

I wanted some really light weight wheels for the car and decent quality. I won these on the Japan Yahoo Auctions.

And, all I know is that the car has been sitting a long time, so I figured it would be good to replace the timing belt / water pump / accessory belts.

Decided on what coilovers to purchase as well. I wanted to stay within my budget, but still get something with Statsis/H&R/KW quality. After searching for a couple of weeks, I finally found recommendations for a coilover that isn't necessarily full race, but is good for a daily / weekend warrier.

I've seen a couple of these up here in Vancouver - they are really pretty tiny standing next to them. Makes a miata look "normal size".. One of them had an aftermarket exhaust and sounded amazing as it ripped by. Definitely my fav micro/kei car.

    looking forward to more pics.

The car arrived at the Tacoma Port on Monday and took a bit to clear customs, which is fine since I was in the Philippines all week. It cleared customs on Wednesday. I flew in on Friday and my wife picked me up, then we went straight to the port. It was kind of confusing as we knew that we had to go to the EB-1 pier, but there isn't good signs on where to actually go. Then we talked to a security guard who steering me in the right direction, just the wrong building, but I found the right building after walking around a bit. After getting the paper work processed, we then had to meet up with our TWIC escort, which we ended up waiting for, for 30+ minutes, and then ended up waiting longer as she grabbed the person who came after us. Needless to say, we weren't too happy, as we were told that we were next. Once we were escorted in, we talked to a longshoreman and he went and got the Beat for us. They ended up having to jump it like I thought, as I had been told that it had a dead battery, but it started right up. Before leaving, another longshoreman stopped me so that he could take a photo. After that, we took it to customs and got the paperwork processed. Then I drove it home with no hiccups. I drove it around Renton yesterday and today and gave it a quick clean today. It is a blast to drive and feels very balanced. I am definitely looking forward to doing the preventative maintenance on it, so I don't have any qualms about taking it anywhere.

At the Target across from the mall, there is a Starbucks in that same lot and they meet there. Actually a pretty good location. I'll post up when I see note of the next one. I think they do it every Sunday unless they have a drive scheduled. It'll be a few weeks till I can get the Beat registered and go again.

Nice! Makes me appreciate the cleanliness of mine. I am curious as to how much it will sell for considering it's condition.

It's a blast to drive and approved by my son, so I love it. It is basically a combination of my S2000 and my classic Minis. It goes around corners like it's on rails, feels perfectly balanced, and has enough power to keep you happy. It's not a fast car by any means, but it feels quick.

Photos from the Seattle Cars and Coffee gathering. The NSX and S2000 showed up together a bit after I did and really wanted me to park in between them. It really gives you a good idea of how small this car really is compared to average cars. S2000s are pretty small themselves.

Seems about right, you can import one for around that price in that condition.
