I sold it to a kid getting ready to go into college at WSU, it's probably in pieces by now.

I doubt you'd remember buy maybe... you did timing chains and some work around that too.

As someone that isn't too great working in the engine area, I felt good about my car in your shop. You guys made me feel welcome and that fact that you guys are into euro cars made me feel good about your recommendations.

Well I discovered this place on the vortex this morning and immediately liked the place so thought I'd weigh in with my present VW.

I picked it up a couple years ago and daily drove it for 3 months before garaging due to too many cars.
I've since rebuilt the suspension & added several performance mods.
Looking forward to registering it as a collectors vehicle soon and getting back into the "scene"/meets.

I suspected someone might ask that
They're just a set of stock rabbit steelies that were widened to 8" by a shop near me in Portland. I picked them up on craigslist so I don't know the fine details.
I just recently stripped them to steel and tossed 5 coats of primer/paint on them.

Thanks! I've wanted a setup like this since I had an 86 GLi a few years back. Like a dream come true to have a hot hatch with this "stance"... I have yet to go over 25mph since mounting them to actually experience the part that matters though.
Suppose I should mention the tires are 225/45r13 Toyo Proxes R888's if anyone's curious/doesn't recognize them. I only bought them because it's a dedicated fair weather vehicle and shouldn't encounter much if any standing water, and the fact that tires for these rims are an endangered species as it is.

I've forgotten the name, but the seller of the rims told me at the time and I looked up the company and found they had closed shop several years previous.
