Very cool. Most widened wheels look like crap considering what people are doing these days. Yours dont look bad at all! One thing to note though, those are MKII wheels

Thanks... Yeah stretched tires to me are only acceptable in small amounts as a last resort.
I may need to roll/trim the fenders a tad once it's put through the paces a faster speeds.
Interesting that they're mk2's.. I assumed all mk2 steelies were like this:

They certainly seem roomy... I believe 10" brakes will clear.

There were 3 different MKII steelies that I can think of off the top of my head for the US market. I know of another for the EU market. 10" brakes will not fit under any VW 13" steelie.

    Hi there!
Figured I would finally introduce myself.
I'm Garret. I live in the Olympia area and attend Centralia Community College at the moment.

    I drive a 1998 Volvo V70 currently, but looking for a change.
    Used to own a 1984 318i, a 1966 VW Squareback, and a 69' Squareback.

I am frequent on the Vortex, and my handle is "PNW"

Oh, and I am looking for a job!

Hello everyone, Matt from Redmond. I'm a freelance IT consultant, but I end up doing a bit of everything - purchasing, network installations, building servers, desktop support, etc.

My vehicle is a 1990 Jeep Cherokee "Graystorm Alpha"

    • 4.0L I6 engine, with an air tube and K&N cone filter, mandrel-bent T304 exhaust with a Flowmaster 50 muffler.
    • Updated "open" style cooling system (no pressurised plastic bottle)
    • 2" budget boost (soon 3" with new control arms and spring pack)
    • 30x9.5" tires on stock rims
    • Dual AGM batteries w/ switching isolator
    • Upgraded steering box ('99 Durango OEM), upgraded linkage from V8 Grand Cherokee
    • CB and ham radios, ceiling mount for tablet
    • LED headlights, S/T/T, custom LED side markers, headlight flashers, rear strobes, rear floods, Hella FF75 and 500FF on front, a-pillar mounted spotlight
    • JCR front bumper with light hoop/brush guard, three point 3/4" d-rings
    • Removed A/C and rear swaybar
Edit: I didn't realize this was a thing, but I guess I should mention that I removed most of my A/C system. I retained the compressor to convert to air for filling tires and running tools.
