went and did a lap at tiger mtn today. 1150 feet of climbing in 3.6 miles to start. Would have liked to do 2 laps, but back is uncooperative right now, and better to play it safe with cross coming up.

envious.. haven't ridden Tiger Mt. in 10 years... and won't be able to for quite a while still

Haven't been on the bikes since we got quads/motorcycles (5 years ago) We have talked about it all summer. Few of the favorites spots - Capital Forest & Belfair for full day trips or Decorsey, 84th & pipeline, Steilicom for a quicky afternoon ride. We have a friend who still races his BMX and kicks a$$ in the 40 plus group. Thank you Joel for the motivation! I think we will be heading to Steilicom for a lil practice.

I'm finally working up to being able to go on a decent ride, doing cardio in the gym 3x a week now. Been almost 7 years since I worked out time to get back in shape

Didn't feel like getting soaked on a ride today so I cleaned my bike instead and took some photo's with the new camera.

    I couldn't help it...

The gray bike is a Kona Cinder Cone. It's a nice bike... probably similar to what I would have bought had I picked up a new bike a few years ago. That said, comparing it with the bike I picked up a few weeks ago there's no comparison for me. The older black bike is definitely my style of bike. The front shock on the Cinder Cone is way too soft for my liking... though I'm curious to see what it'd be like on some downhill singletrack. I can't say that I'm a big fan of the mechanical discs as well, and.. I'm glad my black bike has a chain guard in place of the big front chainring. Also, the steel bike is as light or lighter than this aluminum bike. The components are better overall as well.

So I may ride the bike a little more just for fun, but it's up for sale already.. I'm sure someone else will enjoy it more

    specs:
    2004 Kona Cinder Cone
    17" aluminum hardtail frame
    27 speed
Marzocchi MZ Race front shock.. 100mm travel
Shimano mechanical disc brakes, Avid levers
    Shimano Deore shifters
Shimano Deore & Deore XT derailleurs

Didn't ride any trails, but went for a 16 mile ride today with Jen, Adam and Kim. From the Simmons' house in SE PDX out the Springwater Trail (paved) to Gresham for lunch.

    Sweet!

For anyone interested there is a group ride at paradise valley, off of paradise lake road today at 6PM. 90% of the place is cross country riding with the other 10% being man made stunts, small jumps, and some more technical downhill sections.
