Thread: Movies (& TV) - discussion, and what did you watch today?

  1. #1826
been a while since I've watched much.

we finished big bang theory a few weeks ago... we enjoyed going through it in order.

started watching john wayne westerns the other night... after showing The Man From Snowy River to my wife for the first time. So we've now seen The Sons of Katie Elder (not too bad), She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (we didn't think this was very good), and The Cowboys (pretty good, though a little weird to see kids killing men).

and now I'm watching Epic. I thought the tv ads for this movie were pretty bad.. they focused almost completely on who voice acted for the movie, and made it look like a new ferngully. The movie is actually ok.. certainly watchable. There's nothing too special about it, but it's not bad.

Just watched Cast Away, on Netflix. Nearly 3 hours of Tom Hanks talking to a volleyball. Still enjoy it. Ha ha

watched the second Hunger Games film this weekend. We liked it quite a bit.. didn't know it had such a cliffhanger though. Now we'll probably wait another year or whatever until the last movie so we can watch the final two together

Yeah, RWB builds some cool shit.

Fell in love with his Porsches the first time I saw one several years ago.

I drank while watching it, and then heavily afterwards. I've never deployed to Afghan, but a lot of it hit home from my deployments to Iraq

We watched it this weekend, too. My wife read the book and was excited the movie was finally in Redbox... indeed, a twisted movie.

We also watch St. Vincent. I loved it.

Caught myself up on Better Call Saul, last night. Really digging the Breaking Bad spin-off.

Gotham is really good, I am a little iffy on Better Call Saul, but I was iffy with Breaking Bad at first too.

Currently watching The Interview on Netflix... kind of bored, but for some reason I have a thing about finishing movies.

When I have the opportunity to watch war-related stuff alone, I do. Tonight I watched 'Fighting on the Frontline: Warthogs' and realized that apparently the Brit's have never heard of the phrase 'close-width and destroy.' Pop smoke, tuck-tail and run from small-arms while you're in armored vehicles? Wow. Followed up by the 'Squaddies' episode, which redeemed the Brits slightly... slightly. Not impressed with their televised tactics. Perhaps their military should have picked a more professional Unit to be televised.
