    PNWfahren - Homebrew thread

    Let's discuss

Recipes, questions, methodology, equipment, pictures, and most importantly, drinking homebrew

Currently, in the carboy is a British Bitter, which I will (hopefully) be bottling this afternoon. And tomorrow, work on brewing a Czech Pilsner. 4-6 weeks ferment time, followed by a 6+month lager

    You crack me up!

Well I haven't brewed yet because I am still acquiring equipment.
All that I need is buckets and a burner then its time to get my brew on!

picked up the makings for a Porter today. Supposed to be a clone of Deschutes Black Butte, we'll see how well I can follow the recipe

Seen the previews for that, looks very interesting. We'll see how far Discovery has to dumb it down though

    $42 starter kit!

They "say" the deal will continue until May 2011.

Well I went ahead and bought the kit because you can't go wrong with all of that for $52 total including shipping!
I also paid for one to be sent to my brother in law for a Christmas gift since he is also a beer fan.

Now all I need is the burner and i'm set!
I think i'll just buy the one that i've been eyeballing for a while and just ignore the price.....hehe

This is the one that I want because it does both propane and natural gas.
I have a natural gas stub out the back of my house I want to utilize.

Hehehe well I have to be eventually right?
I figure that its ok because I got everything else on the cheap.

The only thing I need now to be able to do all grain is order a Coleman 70-Quart Xtreme Cooler from amazon.
So i'll be in the ballpark of $225 for a set up that will do extracts up to all grain with the option of 10 gallons at a time.

My kit will be here on the 18th according to the UPS site!
That will barely give me enough time to have beer ready for the big Christmas party.

I should be able to brew batches and have them ready!

    The kit has arrived!
I will do it this weekend on the stove to see how it goes because I don't have the fancy burner yet!
