Let's swap motors and trannies with your vert. Your wife would love a smooth shifting hydraulic auto.

Damn, the best deals pop up as soon as I have no money! Errrrraahhhh!!!!!

    BMW E30 2.7L (M20B27) Engine and 5 Speed Transmission - $250

It wouldn't give me much more hp, but it would give a huge jump in tq and a transmission that would allow me to finally break those rear wheels loose when needed.

I know how you feel !!

selling my S52 engine that I was going to swap in the E30. It was pulled from the 96 M3 down in Jacksonville. The block has a hole in it, but I do have a source to get a better block. The head and all internals are in great shape. I also thought about parting it out. I also have manifold, injectors, throttle body, wiring harness. But no ECU or oil pan. You would also need alternator and all hoses. I will get more pics up

    $1000

it's got 100,000 miles of life in it and is tunable.

Yes because this would make it too much fun!

Any version of the M20 isnt too big for the E21.

Yep in the BMW world we refer to the M20 as the small inline six, the big inline six would be the M30. Also the weight difference between M20 and M50 is pretty small if you get the aluminum block

That was shot in Milwaukie on McLoughlin BLvd. That video doesn't look that impressive. Not nearly as impressive as me powersliding around in the rain today. My little 4 banger is a fun little banger.

This would be the ideal swap. The most amount of power with the least amount of weight. The M54 weighs close to the M20, but with about 30-50 more horses (depending on the version). And the M54 bolts right up to the E21 dogleg with the stock flywheel. Good isht. I'll stop quoting the link and let you read it for yourself.

thats too tight. dude, keep it a 4. its appropriate. tune the stock engine. do an M42 or whatever but dont shove something that large in there.

  21. #46
You're right. I'm just going to go with an auto and tune the existing motor. Maybe go with a stroker kit. All motor, light and agile.

There's updated pictures on the first page. I figured I'd stop hijacking the former owner's. You can see greater detail on the funk in the nooks and crannies.

I need to get a bumper tuck kit. It tucks the bumper as far as it can possibly go.

Not a kit! all you do is drill holes in the bumper shocks, and push in the bumpers. AKA "bumper lipo"

  25. #50
Custom made brakets let you go back another inch or two, depending on how big they are as they can be made shorter than the shocks.

Another reason for the kit is because there is some bumper damage. It looks like someone clipped the bumper.

So the tuck kit brackets should straighten this out and tuck it enough to where only one fold from the bellows is left.
