Thanks! I almost scored some 3-piece Enkei Epsilons, but the deal didn't materialize. These are very similar.

Thanks, Joel. I'm off for most of the next week, so I should be abLE to get some good pictures.

It drives so much better on the smaller wheels. By comparison, it feels like the truck now has power steering.

Hehe. As if the Escort didn't have heavy enough steering...I'm fixing to toss 245s on all 4 corners!

New registration for the Mk1, and got collector vehicle plates. Now half of my vehicles have permanent registration

Pulled the sunroof track cover off the RS to clean and lube the sunroof tracks. And gave her a bath after that...had to get all the road grime off from yesterday.

    Volvo 1 - Versa 0
Car was hit (on the street in front of the house) at ~7:15. Girl was on her way to school, but didn't wait for her windows to unfog, perfectly square hit to the ass of the Volvo, moved it forward ~1 car length. My quick inspection before heading to work looked like *maybe* the body was tweaked ~1/4" on one side of the trunk opening, and a nice license plate imprint on the bumper. Versa didn't do as well, munched hood, destroyed bumper cover, all sorts of plastic laying on the street. Already got a call from their insurance company. Let the fun begin!

After experiencing stalling issues in my Wife's Touareg, I replaced the fuel filter.nMonday night. Naturally, being that the vehicle is very similar to the Porsche Cayanne and Audi Q7, this wasn't the easiest filter to replace. Unfortunately, a severely clogged filter was not the only issue.

After researching the problem on the ClubTouareg forums, which is full of mechanical idiots, I found a lot of chaps in the UK had identical symptoms. Car stalls within 60 seconds of starting, and replacing the fuel filter only extends that by a couple minutes. It was time to replace both in-tank fuel pumps. Oi.

So tonight I ripped everything apart under the back seats, and swapped them out. Siphoned most of the gas out into the Mk5 GTI (both run premium), and got the two units switched out. Runs like a damn champ, again.

I'd like to thank the lovely Russian fellow on YouTube who posted up a 20 minute video making it look easy. It doesn't take a mere 20 minutes, and I hate him for having all the specialty clip removing tools. My thumbs and index fingers are sore from minipulating all those fuel line connectors.

Haha. I'm glad you were able to figure it out though.. would have sucked if the fuel pumps didn't do it.

YouTube videos always seem to make it look easy, but I find that the visual help is still worth it

The biggest help from the video was when he stated the line clips are all different sizes, and they only connect where they're supposed to. That saved me hours of screwing things up.

Hearing the suspension that should be on the car already roll around the back of the wagon is annoying. I've been looking into doing the control arms at the same time... just not sure which ones to buy, thoughts? FCP has a good Group Buy on Audizine, they don't seem to have any poor reviews and they're the right price. I've heard 034 is 'meh' (seeing as the motor/tranny mounts I put in our GLI seemed to get sloppy after a very short time, I kind of believe it). Not this weekend but next weekend I'll (hopefully) be doing it, so I'm trying to get all parts here before hand.

  23. #2873
Fcp is ok as a retailer. They sell a mixed bag of brands though, so just be sure which brand of parts you're getting and that those brands get good reviews
