With having the chop saw over there and it being a working space, I don't want anything above that bench. The back wall of the garage will have some floor-to-ceiling cabinets though. And honestly, I think everything I have on shelves in the garage already will fit into these cabinets. I don't have tons and tons of stuff, the basement gets most of the camping/misc gear now, and limiting the storage helps keep the crap to a minimum. If I have more storage, I'm just going to find more crap to put in it.

I think you just argued against yourself. More crap to cram in is a must!

went out and got started on clearing one more project out of the garage. Started building my wine-barrel adirondack chair. Came up one stave short though

I've been doing that too, way too many spare car parts. Hell, I basically have a full 944 minus the shell sitting in boxes, plus another half a car worth of 968 non-body parts.
That's what you get when you part cars and don't throw away everything left over 'just in case I might need it'...

I do need to jump on the cleansing bandwagon. I have a pile of Mk1/2/5 parts and inherited tools/hardware that's merging with homebrewing equipment. My garage is too small for all this shite.

    Garages are always too small.

Put up another shelf in mine, along w/ a JGTC poster from the '04 California Speedway race and an ALMS banner.

Ain't that the truth. I more than doubled my garage space 4 months ago and it's already nearly filled!

my dad is building a huge (30x40) steel construction shop in New Mexico. I'm pretty sure he has enough stuff to fill it twice, already.

I think you're right. Especially with his sculpture ideas

Just got rid of the full length mirrors that were in my garage. My mom and I took them down so she can use them. I just wanted the wall space for shelving and storage space. Three mirrors 58"x90" are definitely not light!

Never been a fan of large mirrors.

Hopefully I can work on cleaning up some of the garage in the next few weeks. I need to be able to reliably park at least one car in there, or work on a car, when necessary. It's way to full right now, and no where near a state where I could start organizing things

Only had 2 60W equivalent LED bulbs in the small garage before which was pretty pathetic. Got in on a deal where Home Depot had 4' LED shop lights for $25 (normally $40) for a few hours so I ordered 8. Mounted 6 of them in the small garage so I can finally see. The other two will go in the large garage. Should've ordered about 15 more so I could replace the T12's in the big garage, but that'll have to wait until another sale.

Better lighting is definitely one of the best garage mods ever. I need to replace one of my fluorescent fixtures that has a freaky ballast.

I bet that is a huge improvement! That's always been a pet-peeve of all the rentals I've been in. They put more lamps in a bathroom than they do a garage, ridiculous.

slap some el-cheapo primer on that ceiling and the lighting will improve massively

Sadly, most of the fluorescent that's in the house is the owners, so I can't get rid of it even if I'm not using it.

Good idea, might do that when it warms up some.
