Thread: the airhead

  1. #101
I'm waiting until I have a headlight to determine what the final height will be.
I want them way down there though so I can lay down on the tank and get comfy.

here's an old benelli with low bars. part of the illusion is that the BMW tank is BIG. It's tall. Look where the bars are in relation to the SADDLE.

I'm looking at where they're positioned on the triple trees... Is the fork neck just really long on this bike?

My big gut would prevent me from reaching those handle bars and maintain that riding position.

    Sweet Sami in the garage!

I have always liked them and I almost bought one new back in the day.

Its cool that you can also put VW diesels in them easily!

I wanted to put a diesel out of a mitsubishi mity-max or toyota truck.
I'd like to have another someday, perhaps... but they're getting expensive!

    Yes, yes they are!
They're one of the vehicles that I keep my eyes open looking for a nice one.

Are parts cheaper and more available for the Sami or the airhead?

  16. #116
airheads are supported by bmw. most service parts are affordable.
sam parts were cheap back in the day.
