Land Rover Discovery build thread !

    So my last build thread was a 1988 E28 BMW ... http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1195367
This is my new toy/DD .....

    A 1995 Land Rover Discovery 3.9 V8
all time all wheel drive with 4 high and 4 low transfer case lock.

This build is a long time coming, now I finally got it. 302 miles in 6 day and I love it !
I put bolt in solid valve stems in the rims "I ripped out the rubber ones the first day 4 wheeling".
A new alternator , brake pads , and I've been cleaning up tubes hoses.

And seafoam the engine, it was not thet bad !

Thats all for now more to come !

I recommend GTFO that vehicle ASAP. The british are not known for making reliable vehicles... Parts are 'spensive!

I pulled the heads and they look rebuilt, start cleaning up the engine bay ! I'm happy that the engine looks as good as it does!

    photos !

You can clearly see here the head gasket failed...

Whoa so you've already started ripping into it?

The people that I know that have them love them and they beat on them pretty good!
They also have a normal daily driver because they're always doing something.

Not a huge fan of Land Rover but off roading sounds like so much fun, I've never done it but would love to try it some time.

I like land rovers a lot... just would be super hesitant about owning one myself. I imagine it feels a lot better knowing the engine has been completely looked over though

so.. would you say that this is the only proper way to own one of these, by rebuilding the entire engine?

Why is it that me, you annnd Tony always do this to cars when we get them? I'm going to rip the wiring harness out of the caddy next weekend to repair it, then drive it to work on Monday.

He fixed it a while ago. It is actually for sale or trade. He wants a BMW again.
