Cooking Hot Dogs or Brats in Beer: What Beer do you use?

As the title states: what Beer do you use when you boil hot dogs or brats? I personally liked St. Paulli Girl, but I want to try something new.

I used a wheat beer because that is what I had on hand and it turned out amazing.
Wheat beer, brats, onions and peppers on the bbq in a cast iron pan! Mmmmm!

Guinness would probably be pretty tasty.

I'd have to agree with EK20 Guinness would be a very good choice its dark and super rich. Or you could do a hefeweizen of some sort.... to stick to tradition. Also throw some onions into the beer....unless you do that already(I think most people do right?).

onions, garlic, stick of butter (srsly), and use a 'medium' flavored beer. Amber ales, Brown Ales, if they're spicy brats an IPA would do wonderfully
